Bend Merchandiser Manager


Bigfoot Beverages Bend is recruiting for a Merchandiser Manager. The Merchandiser Manager oversees and coordinates the daily operations, retail execution and supervision of the Merchandisers.  This position is responsible for achieving the retail sales plan through efficient routing systems and tracking department efficiencies.  Accountable for communicating sales and marketing strategies to ensure consistent retail execution within all accounts. Resolves problems concerning routing, labor budget, product placement, customer service and other issues.  Works closely and has exceptional communication with their manager, direct reports, sales representatives and current accounts.  This is a full-time, exempt level position.  The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday that will include 40 plus hours weekly and shift start time varies based on daily need.

  1. Maintains a personnel structure and staffing level to maximize sales and profitability in an effective and efficient manner. Interviews and recommends applicants for hire.
  2. Plans and manage all daily routing, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of all Merchandisers.  Route ride on a regular basis, focusing on training to increase knowledge, experience and skill levels including basic merchandising, retail execution and customer service.
  3. Provide motivational leadership for employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training and development.  Ensure personnel are in a position for success both for the individual and the company.
  4. Acts as a daily resource to all Merchandisers in regards to new products, out of stocks, promotions, pricing and POS placement.
  5. Manage daily routing to ensure that productivity targets for hours, stops, and cases are met. Reallocating resources when necessary to manage overtime and labor budgets.
  6. Initiates, monitors, and maintains company standards for merchandising, display presentations, and Point of Sale (POS) materials.
  7. Communication with Sales Representatives on a regular basis in regards to strategic planning, account needs, upcoming events and major issues.
  8. Coordinate and assist in the planning and implementation of store resets, merchandising themes and display maintenance.
  9. Maintain customer relations through account visits, product knowledge, assisting with resets and display builds.  Provide leadership and support for situations involving problem resolution.
  10. Acts as route back up when necessary.
  11. Measures the performance of the Merchandisers for accuracy of time management, customer service, cleanliness and organization of company product.
  12. Partner with HR to ensure compliance and consistency with company policies, procedures, proper documentation and other related concerns.

Required Education and Experience

  1. B.S. or B.A. degree in business, sales and marketing, or related field; or high school diploma or GED with equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in sales, merchandising, route delivery, or marketing, with minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience managing teams and individuals, coaching and developing staff.
  3. CDL or ability to obtain a CDL.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Beverage industry experience.
