Eugene Area Manager


Bigfoot Beverages Eugene is recruiting for an Area Manager. The Area Manager oversees and coordinates the daily sales operations, retail execution and supervision of the Delivery Drivers, and Merchandisers.  This position is accountable for communicating sales and marketing strategies with the sales team to ensure consistent retail execution within all accounts. Resolves problems concerning routing, labor budget, product placement, customer service and other issues.  Works closely and has exceptional communication with their manager, direct reports, and current accounts.  This is a full-time, exempt level position.  The schedule is Monday through Friday with some weekend work as necessary. This will include 40 plus hours weekly and shift start time varies based on daily need.

  1. Maintains a personnel structure and staffing level to maximize sales and profitability in an effective and efficient manner. Interviews and recommends applicants for hire.
  2. Plans and coordinates all daily routing, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of all Sales Representatives, Delivery Drivers and Merchandisers.  Route ride on a regular basis, focusing on training to increase knowledge, experience and skill levels including basic merchandising, retail execution and customer service.
  3. Provide motivational leadership for employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training and development.
  4. Acts as a daily resource in regards to new products, out of stocks, promotions, pricing and POS placement.
  5. Manage daily routing to ensure that productivity targets for hours, stops, and cases are met. Reallocating resources when necessary to manage overtime and labor budgets.
  6. Initiates, monitors, and maintains company standards for merchandising, display presentations, and Point of Sale (POS) materials.
  7. Ensures that POS materials are properly distributed and places orders from the Print Shop when necessary.
  8. Assists in the planning and implementation of store resets, merchandising themes and display maintenance.
  9. Maintain customer relationships through account visits, business updates, managing resets and display builds.
  10. Compile and update employee time reports prior to bi-weekly payroll periods.
  11. Negotiate and develop CDAs with assigned account.  Maintain consistent communication to establish a weekly or monthly ad and display schedule.
  12. Acts as route back up when necessary.
  13. Measures the performance of the Delivery Drivers and Merchandisers for accuracy of POS placement, time management, customer service, cleanliness and organization of company product.

Required Education and Experience

  1. B.S. or B.A. degree in business, sales and marketing, accounting or related field; or high school diploma or GED with equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in sales, merchandising, route delivery, or marketing, with minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience managing teams and individuals, coaching and developing staff.
  3. CDL or ability to obtain a CDL.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Beverage industry experience.
