Bend Full Time Fleet Mechanic

Bigfoot Beverages of Bend is recruiting for a Fleet Mechanic. The Fleet Mechanic will perform maintenance, diagnosis and repair on all company vehicles to ensure optimum life, performance and safety. Works closely and has exceptional communication with their co-workers, department managers and the Fleet & Facilities Manager. This is a full-time, non-exempt level position.  The schedule is Monday through Friday with some weekend work as necessary.  The shift start times will vary based on daily need. 



Essential Functions

  1. Troubleshoot, diagnose and perform repairs on vehicle malfunctions or break-downs.
  2. Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles to maximize the safety, productivity and life of the unit.
  3. Procure parts and services for vehicle repair with close attention to best available value and turnaround time.
  4. Perform field repair at satellite warehouse locations and emergency road repair when necessary.
  5. Maintain record of scheduled repairs, ordered parts and documentation of completed work.  
  6. Partner with manufacturers on major or complicated repair situations where tools and resources are needed.
  7. Maintain communication with management regarding status of company vehicles and transportation needs.
  8. Act as a resource to employees that are enrolled in the company CDL Program.  Provide training, knowledge and coaching through hands-on driving experiences.
  9. Communicate transportation updates, areas for problem resolution and scheduling conflicts with the Fleet & Facilities Manager.
  10. Adhere to all requirements for vehicle cleanliness and safety, follow all traffic laws and company vehicle policies.
  11. Observe company safety guidelines and practices in every phase of work.  Report all hazardous conditions, safety concerns, injuries, incidents or property damage to your manager.
  12. Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, conferences, trainings and networking with industry personnel.
  13. Regular and reliable attendance.


Work Environment

This job operates primarily in a truck shop, with frequent warehouse exposure, and does require travel to other company locations throughout the week.  This position is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles and moderate noise levels. This role routinely uses standard mechanical equipment, power tools, warehouse equipment and precision measuring equipment well as drive a company vehicle.


Required Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or GED Required.
  2. Two years mechanical experience.
  3. Valid Class A CDL Required.


Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Technical degree or certification.
  2. Air Brake system repair certification.
